There are reports that Chelsea could get Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang for £70 million this summer.

Chelsea are desperately in need of a top striker as Diego Costa is set to exit the club following his altercation with Coach Antonio Conte last term.

The Premier League champions require a proven goalscorer as they are set to compete in continental tournament aside defending their league title. There are other domestic commitments as well.

The Blues have been linked with a move for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata and Torino striker Andrea Belotti. However, after losing RomeluLukaku to a stealth move by rivals Manchester United, Conte is keen on acquiring a proven player.

While the three options are decent, it seems Aubameyang would provide a better fit. The Gabon international pipped Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to the top scorer award in the German Bundesliga last term. He scored 31 goals for Dortmund to earn the tag. In the top leagues in Europe, only five time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi bettered his tally in the league. (more…)

The race is on to sign Borussia Dortmund´s Pierre Aubameyang

Pierre Aubameyang is a 27 year old Gabonese player of Borussia Dortmund who has been taking the Bundesliga by storm after scoring 28 goals in 30 league appearances.

That’s the amount of goals that he has scored in the season of 2016-17.

During the previous season of 2015-16, Pierre Aubameyang was also very efficient when it came to scoring goals as the French born Gabonese player found the back of the net on 25 occasions in 30 Bundesliga appearances.

It´s because of all these impressive performances that Aubameyang has been displaying for the past few seasons that he has been attracting the attention of various top European clubs including: Ac.Milan, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City.

The contract of Pierre Aubameyang sees him remaining with Borussia Dortmund at least until 2020 but there has been a significantly large amount of rumors emerging claiming that Pierre could be making a move to another club in a few months when the summer transfer window opens up on July 1 of 2017. Bayern Munich have been picking up the German Bundesliga title for years.

The German champions are chasing a record straight fifth victory this season. RB Leipzig is the closest competition this term, and they were handed a favour on Saturday after Schalke 04 held Bayern to a 1-1 draw. The second-placed team could reduce the gap to one point if they win their clash.

Robert Lewandowski gave Bayern an early lead against Schalke but defender Naldo equalized in the 13th minute. The Bavarians had to work hard at maintaining the scoreline on the skipper Philipp Lahm’s 500th game for the club.

“It was a tough game because Schalke played well. We started well but were not so compact, also in midfield, and our two lines were too far apart from one another. We could only increase the pressure slightly at the end, but it was not enough,” Coach Carlo Ancelotti said after the game.

Leipzig would not have it easy when they face Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Fitness worries and suspension would make it an even more difficult task with top scorer Timo Werner, Diego Demme, Marcel Sabitzer, and Emil Forsberg ruled out. (more…)

Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sits on top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts with 16 goals in 15 appearances so far this season.

Germany legend Lothar Mathaus believes that the player is worth about (Euros) 30million more than World record signing-Paul Pogba.

The Gabon international has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City in recent seasons but he seems destined for a move to Real Madrid after stressing his desire to move to the club on numerous occasions. He has grown into a key player for BVB since making the move to the club from Saint-Etienne in 2013.

The 27-year old started out his Dortmund career as a winger in the 2013/2014 season because of his blistering pace. When Robert Lewandowski left the club for Bayern Munich the following season, Aubameyang became BVB’s main goal threat and has developed into a prolific striker since then.

After striking 25 goals in 31 Bundesliga games last season, he has followed it up with 16 goals in 15 games so far this season and is currently the league’s top scorer.       (more…)

Chicago Fire weakest Team while Play away

There has not been a team weaker than Chicago Fire when it comes to playing away in the Major League Soccer.

But, yesterday, at last, a clueless Montreal Impact squad let them break their winless run on the road in more than 24 months by dishing out easy goals to them.

Accepting the lower standard of the play of his team, Mauro Biello says anyone who gave away cash to buy a seat in the arena can slam the Impact players as it’s deserved.

As per Biello, no player was relaxed ahead of the game and was thinking that a win would come just by wandering around because it was Chicago. As much preparation went into it as would have gone in for any other team, but, recklessness on the pitch obviously would have given an impression to the viewers that the pre-game thought process was not right.

The 44-year old who was the spearhead of the attack of Montreal Impact during the late nineties was quoted saying, “As a viewer, it costs you to book a seat, doesn’t it? So, if you are provided such poor quality, you can boo.”

“There was never a time when we can say we had an upper hand, not for a second. It was always us chasing the game and not them, which was really, really awful.” (more…)

Didier Drogba Influences His Team Even Off The Field

Didier Drogba is being sent off to London to be treated for a hip injury that he has sustained.

The striker from Montreal Impact is down with an injury of the hip flexor region. With the striker down Dominic would be taking up his position and hopes to score some goals this season. Drogba would be moving to London to be with his family as well as to get treated for his injury. Impact at the same time will be at Orlando City, where they will be playing their fifth game in a run that has been winless for them so far.

Oduro stated that, with Drogba hurt the visit to Orlando will not be easy for the team. It is a hostile environment that Impact would have to face. Orlando will be putting on the pressure for Impact. However Oduro states that, when the opposing team will come forward to put pressure, they will reveal a space behind them where he will attack. His nickname is Freaky Fast as he is known to get balls from behind the defense and move it towards the goal. (more…)

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba helped Montreal Impact as they forced a draw in the keenly contested match against Major League Soccer side, Columbus Crew SC.

This was not the first time in Montreal Impact history that drama surrounds a penalty kick taken against the Montreal Impact. One player has had such influence on penalty kicks that it has changed the outcome of the kick last year, and on a crazy Saturday night in Ohio, the outcome of the game was altered.

It was in the fall of 2015, Sacha Klejstan was about to take an important penalty kick. Then Drogba said; “Ca a marché” and it worked. That was what Didier Drogba said to French central defender, Damien Perrinnelle, after the miss. What did not work is that the New York Red Bulls went on to win 2-1 at Red Bull Arena but the former Galatasaray centre forward learnt from this experience and understood that one does not need to be that involved to play mind games.

Kei Kamara and Federico Higuain caused a public meltdown between both teammates over their penalty kick. The ensuing post-game press conference by Kei Kamara was quite astonishing and shocking in the raw nature of the comments as he blasted his team mate, Higuain, for not giving him the opportunity to score his first career hat trick, at least before he was traded again against his wish. The player was not a stranger to being traded as he has been traded before, on three occasions on the long career at the MLS. (more…)

Ex-Chelsea player, Didier Drogba admits he has moved on from the charity scandal that rocked his Foundation; Didier Drogba Foundation. The foundation was accused of exploitation of orphans in the war-torn country.

The foundation has received several high profile commendations and is backed by royalty corporate outfits, celebrities and others. The foundation which is supported by Princess Beatrice and David Beckham claimed to provide thousands of school children with the basic to get a good education. The children even appeared in a promotional film.

The player had lunch with 20 African “orphans” with his family. The children were taken by bus to Mansion miles from their homes. After the lunch, lots of promotional pictures were taken and posted on social media. The pictures were further scrutinized and the kids were identified as UK child models.

The player who is also a United Nations Goodwill ambassador was highly embarrassed with the reports as one of the supposed orphans identified was the grandson of former Arsenal player, Ian Wright.

The foundation has received 1.7 million pounds since 2009 but there were allegations that the foundation has spent only 15 thousand Pounds on veritable charity projects.

Half a million pounds was reportedly sent on fundraising parties in London by the foundation, where top celebrities were entertained while the rest are unused in bank accounts. The revelations were stunning and it prompted Britain’s charity watchdog to launch an investigation. Millions of pounds which the player earned form Pepsi, Nike and Samsung which he claimed went to Charity and didn’t pay income tax for are set to be investigated. (more…)

Jose Mourinho himself knows he wasnt able to give Loic Remy

Jose Mourinho himself knows that he has not been able to give Loic Remy as much playing time as he should have.

The ability that the former Rangers player possesses demands him to be played more, but, sometimes, you have to pay the price of being a part of an immensely powerful team.

Had Remy been elsewhere, he would have featured regularly without a shadow of doubt, but, just because Chelsea is so equipped upfront, Mourinho hasn’t had the room to get the 28-year old in and give him a persistent run.

However, with Diego Costa having taken a bit of a blow in his hamstring and tipped to be out for some time, this might be the breakthrough which Remy had been looking for.

Remy was the substitute for a brief period in the Hull game after Costa sustained that injury of his and Mourinho dropped hints in the post match presser that the Frenchman might be starting the next game.

Speaking in the news conference, the Blues boss said, “Loic can probably consider himself a touch unlucky in the sense that he has missed out on playing time quite a bit despite being so talented and in good form.” (more…)
